Is it really time to invest in gold in Singapore? This question is directed to those who have not already made time to invest in gold in Singapore. It is also directed at those who have already allocated a part of their portfolio in gold investments.
We wrote this article "Time To Invest in Gold in Singapore" because of the recent 'Black Friday" major global stock decline since the recession in 2008.
Worried about the debt ceiling in the United States, Standard & Poor's downgrade of US debt on 5 August 2011, possible US double dip recession in future and perhaps the whole wobbly global economy?
So is it time to invest in gold in Singapore?
Many investors must have been thinking that way, that it is time to invest in gold in Singapore, seeing the price of gold shooting to record highs this year.
Many investors buy gold as a hedge against inflation. Many buy gold as an 'ínsurance' against calamitous risks. As an Asian trait and a tradtional habit passed down through the generations, some Singaporeans are fond of buying gold in the form of jewelery as a kind of protection against major crisis.
And why not? If the US currency takes a beating as reserve currency, why not return to the gold standard? If a global black swan event were to hit our shores and Singapore is affected badly, would you feel safer with gold bars under your pillow or a computer entry on your personal online savings account?
It is defintely time to pay attention to consider if it is time to invest in gold in Singapore.
